Buffalo Niagara International Airport is located in the town of Cheektowaga, close to the US/Canadian border in upstate New York. It is the closest airport for passengers traveling to the city of Buffalo and the surrounding Golden Horseshoe region, which is easily accessible with car rental at Buffalo Airport.

This modern transportation hub is a relatively new construction, with 26 boarding gates serving cities across the US continent. In recent years the airport has benefited from the emergence of low-cost air travel from the likes of JetBlue Airways, and has since attracted regular flights from Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways, among others.

The terminal building is split over two floors, with Departures on the upper level and Arrivals below. There are several shops and restaurants, along with work stations for laptop computers, and for a minimal fee passengers can hire rapid charge adaptors for cell phones and iPods.

The lower level of the airport also has a range of car hire companies and budget car rental at Buffalo Airport gives visitors the opportunity to make the best of their trip. The city of Buffalo is only a 20 minute drive from the airport and is noted for its large number of parks, and is affectionately known as the ‘City of Trees'.

A 45 minute journey north with car hire at Buffalo Airport on I-190 takes drivers to Niagara Falls State Park. This natural marvel can be enjoyed from both sides of the border by driving across the Rainbow Bridge into Canada.
