The Dorset seaside resort of Weymouth is located on what is commonly referred to as the Jurassic Coast in southern England. Castletown's Portland Castle is one of two forts built for protection on the orders of King Henry VIII in the area. Sandsfoot is the other castle and is in Wyke Regis. The county town of Dorchester is eight miles north and has lots of monuments that date from the Roman era and bear testament to the town's long history. The Dorchester County Museum is an interesting place with artifacts from ancient times.

From Dorchester turning left is the road for historic Lyme Regis with car rental in Weymouth Downtown, while right is the way to Bovington Tank Museum. The latter houses the biggest collection of tanks in the world and some exhibits date from WWI.
