Easily booked, great rates, good vehicles

This is by far the best car hire service I have booked through for months. The booking was straightforward and clear, no hidden extras, and the customer service at the location (through Avis) was first class. I would highly recommend and as a regular hire car user, will be using 121 again in the near future.

121 is easy

I booked a Sixt car inexpensively through 121 website, and I have to say it was a great experience. I drive lots, but hire cars rarely, and the guys at Sixt in Belfast at Titanic Quarter were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and smiley (even though they seemed to work every single hour over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend). The pick up at the airport was efficient, clean, quick etc, and the paperwork completing at the 'depot' was fine. I had opted to increase my insurance so that I wouldn't have to pay the excessive excess (£1,200) in the case of an accident - but then didn't opt for additional insurance as I don't mind the £1,200 being 'blocked' on my card for a few days. I don't think that car hire companies make all of this very clear, and it's difficult (especially for foreigners) to understand what is exactly going on. Anyway, the only thing that was a slight concern was that I had to pay an extra £20 to go into the Republic of Ireland - but this might have been for breakdown cover rather than insurance which is a bit annoying because my own breakdown cover would have been sufficient. Anyway, no worries, cos now I'm going to win £50 of Amazon vouchers so in the end I'll be 'quids in'! Overall a pretty good experience, which you wouldn't necessarily think that you'd get from a hire car company; it's alwasy to do with the poeple that you meet, and once again, I'd re-iterate how great the guys in Belfast were. Well done to them!

Cheap and easy

I hire cars quite frequently for both business and personal use, I have been using 121 Car Hire for a while now and everytime they were able to offer the best deal. Their prices are always competitive especially with the additional cover to protect your excess. Great stuff, well recommended!!!

Good in belfast

Pick up at belfast city was efficient, just call as soon as you land. Aircon didnt work in first car but they replaced it quickly. Car was ok and didnt act up although getting on. Drive right around NI ina week with no dramas. Car exterior a bit rough so make sure you inspect and take photos. Service guys were great. Would do it again with sixt no probs on return. Not hard to scratch car in belfast so better not new anyway.

Received nice and clear instructions upon booking and followed them thoroughly. Called the number on the instructions when we arrived at Belfast City Airport and by the time we got out of the airport, the shuttle taxi was waiting for us and a very pleasant lady drove us to collect our car, which was only a 2 minute drive. Upon arriving at the office, we found that the car was not big enough to hold our luggage, so the staff sorted me with another car straight away with no problems, had to pay for the upgrade of course! The only thing I didn't particularly like was that I didn't know I had to pay extra for the insurance waiver. Apart from that, it was a totally reliable service with no problems whatsoever.

Value for money

Collection and drop off great. Car was quite high mileage, but I guess you get what you pay for. Not particularly happy about the 10 euro charge for cleaning, after all I'm not going to try find a car wash at 4am in a country I'm not familiar with. Friendly staff.

Best Car Hire

Got upgraded to really great car with good price offer. Surprised to find car had sat nav, reversing camera and parking sensors together with cruise control. Diesel fuel just made the experience a joyful one. Service was excellent with friendly staff.

Very friendly staff. Picked up promptly from the airport and car hire only a couple of minutes from the airport. Website stated car fuel was 1/4 full and return 1/4 full. But this did not happen. I was told by easirent that I had to pay for 1/4 tank (they charged £20) and return empty. However the tank was not quite 1/4 full.

Very easy booking system with clear information. Pick up and drop off were easy. We had a very new car which was above our expectations. An agent was waiting for us at pick up and drop off and dealt with us speedily. Do make sure you have enough credit availability for the guarantee for the excess, if you don't take the extra insurance. we were 100% satisfied.

This airport is the facility for Londonderry, on the borders of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, also known as Eire. Known locally as Derry, the airport has links to the mainland of the United Kingdom and Dublin to the south.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
