Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Location information for Saumur

Saumur is located in the department of Maine-et-Loire in Western France. Sitting between the Thouet and Loire rivers, the historic town of Saumur is surrounded by vineyards. With a car hire at Saumur Downtown, you can also easily get to the vineyards of Chinon, Coteaux du Layon, and Bourgueil.

Get a cheap car hire at Saumur Downtown and you also have easy access to various places of interest in Saumur, like the National School of Horsemanship (Ecole Nationale d'Equitation) well-known for its yearly horse shows. Cadre Noir, an equestrian display team, is based in Saumur.

Around the city, you can also check out the tank museum Musee des Blindes, where over 850 armored vehicles are housed. Most of the tanks are from France but there are also many from Germany and Brazil. In 1793, the Battle of Saumur happened during the Vendee Revolt.

Another popular attraction, probably the most important of the landmarks in Saumur, is the Chateau de Saumur. To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
